I met a writer at a retreat I went to recently. She was South Asian like me and we had so many similar things in our lives. So much so it felt like we were Astro twins.
I listened to her life story in amazement. How she had this backbone of self belief and was very entrepreneurial in achieving her goal to be a writer. I want to share what she told me about how she achieved her dream, and very much on her terms. But it is her story and I don’t want to intrude. However I can talk about how it made me feel.
I identified with her restless determination to achieve her dream no matter what. I have the same energy and am similarly driven. But what I takeaway from both our journeys is:
—> Being the architect of our trajectories is important if we are to achieve
—>Using the fire in our bellies to fuel our determination is necessary as we need to be the fire starter of our dreams.
—> Working up creative ways to leapfrog over conventional pathways is really important as so many will say be patient and take your time. The only time you should take is to learn things that will help you in your journey.

—>And to plough a farrow where there is none. I have had to create my own path and continue to do so as sometimes we don’t fit and that is ok because then we create not only paths for ourselves but for others to follow
And the more I do this the more I realise that the world has infinitesimal ways of reaching our goals and if there isn’t one we have it within us to create them.
The Noon retreat was set up to help investigate how we can have a purposeful life as we enter our third quarter life. It was there I met this amazing writer. Her wisdom shines.
Our Venn diagram where we overlap also includes our mutual desire to give voice to the the stories of us which don’t get to be included in the highlights because they are just not on brand with what sells.
I don’t want us to be served with what AI decides we want because of our hyper personalised world. I want to have the widest pool of content and for us to decide what we want to invest our time in.
My blog this month doesn’t have that final ending but feels more like a beginning of something exciting as I will meet this writer again and will enjoy where our conversation may lead.
