BlueOrigin - My take away's

My take away's from the Blue Origin First Manned flight into space on July 20th, 2021 with the 4 astronauts including Jeff Bezos. (Full credit to everyone else, however my point is in the Pioneering, Leadership, the Vision, the focus, the baby-step, Being First, High-risk, no immediate monetary returns, delayed gratification, NOT being done before etc.

1. Automated. No pilot. The whole things was automatic, controlled from the ground, went up in one piece and came down in two pieces as planned, perfect in most senses of the word.

2. Software. Automated implies software. It's all in the software, embedded or otherwise, process, sequence, sensors, actuators, controls, monitoring, correction, feedback loops ... it's all software only.

3. The Infra. Vision of Jeff Bezos as stated by him. A first step in building scale for the future, so that others can use this infra. for a whole lot of things yet unknown, not invented, not even thought of. His statement, unlike when he started Amazon in the 90's when the infra. for warehousing, delivery, payment all existed.

4. Have to do both. The future and present. The trip was about the future, the present was his USD 100 M each to Van Jones and Jose Andres. Both well known CNN contributors and free to spend on their charities. Social reform in the US and food security globally respectively.

5. The choice of words of Courage and Civility for these grants. BOTH the words are important.

6. Bezos Earth Fund focus of the present to look at Climate Change, Global Warming, Protecting the planet.

7. The choice of upright rocket and overkill in boosters. This will help scale and most effective choice at this point for infra.

8. Choice of Hydrogen fuel making it more Eco-friendly.

9. You climb, but on the shoulders of giants. (My words) Jeff Bezos in subsequent interviews acknowledged all the teams, collaboration, other inventors, infrastructure, history of learning that goes into such efforts.
