Blue Forest Monthly: May blooms and good news! ??
Dear Blue Forest community,?
We hope you’ve had a chance to enjoy some sunshine! ??
Wildfire season is around the corner in the U.S. and off to an early start in neighboring countries, highlighting the importance of our mission. Mitigating wildfire through landscape-scale forest restoration is more crucial than ever as countries like Mexico and Canada face early forest fires fueled by drought and climate change-related conditions. Our deepest sympathies are with all those affected by the wildfires devastating both countries. We continue to collaborate with our partners to create financing solutions that will work in an international context. ?
Our spring has been bustling with site visits, conferences, and community meetings. Last month we had the opportunity to join the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, Chelan County, and other local partners in presenting to over 100 attendees at a community meeting about our developing project in the Upper Wenatchee area. Attendees were excited to hear more about on-the-ground work starting this summer and learn how this project will mitigate wildfire risk, create a more resilient forest, and keep the local community safe. You can learn more about the Upper Wenatchee Pilot Project on our website, or check out the presentation here.
Speaking of conferences, we’ve had a chance to get out and about attending and speaking at a number of them lately. As a remote-first organization, conferences not only present an opportunity to meet in person and network but they also allow us to share knowledge and learn from impactful individuals and organizations doing great work in the U.S. and beyond. Check out this blog post to learn more about some of our experiences and speaking engagements this spring. ??
As always, we appreciate your support and readership and invite you to stay tuned for exciting news this summer!

The CDFI Certification Program is managed by the California Organized Investment Network (COIN), which operates under the California Department of Insurance.
