The Bloom of New Beginnings

As is always the case, my photography seems to have such amazing synergy with my life. I cannot help but look into the world and see mirrors. Mirrors that reflect different facets of my own experience in the world.

This photoshoot at Rice University was no exception. I had been talking with Connective Talent for some time, working together to envision a shift in the profile pictures of their employees. Nathan wanted images that captured the energy and promise of the new additions to his team.

When scouting for locations for this shoot, Rice just felt right. Not only was it beautiful but it was a great reference back to these young people’s experience, fresh faced out of college, full of promise and new beginnings. While also showing their growth into their new positions and new stages in life. Each brimmed with excitement in their own way, sharing their energy and enthusiasm with the growing confidence of smiles and the determined set of shoulders. 

I love photographing people on the verge of transition. They bring with them an energy of promising futures, and anticipation. As I continue to work on my own new project, it was invigorating to get to photograph so many others as they embark on theirs. I have no doubt that these faces will be faces to watch as they bring their expertise and energy to Connective Talent’s mission.
