The Bloom Effect
Bloom is mPharma’s flagship software product. We like to refer to it as the Operating Software for the modern African Pharmacy.
When we designed and built Bloom, we did so to satisfy the fundamental needs shared across every pharmacy in Africa, which includes internet challenges, low technical literacy, and non-existent data analytics capabilities. Every solution we bring into Bloom starts with the question: how well will this work when deployed in the most underserved community? How can we make sure it is modular, understanding that while pharmacies certainly share specific problems, they are not the same?
What’s more, unlike other software solutions, we bring to the table a much broader perspective. Understanding the needs of markets across the continent allows us to synthesise a much more robust and scalable solution.
Bloom’s second special ingredient is it’s connection to a broader platform of value. Most Pharmacy management software solutions start and stop with the screen; they are software to ease workflows and capture data. Bloom extends well beyond the boundaries of the tablet or computer a pharmacist uses. Bloom is directly tied to mPharma’s core value proposition of vendor managed inventory, data-driven disease management, customer rewards and e-commerce services. Bloom is the interface through which these pharmacies connect to our services and deliver value to their patients. It also enables mPharma to build a real-time medicine consumption database that provides insights to various stakeholders. An example of this is a real-time Malaria treatment dashboard we created for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

4 年Great one Greg, many retail pharmacies in SSA do not have softwares tailored to help them but purely transact and basic inventory management. All the best !
