BLOODY DAFFODILS

I WONDER ALOUD AT THE SHROUD!

(Aka BLOODY DAFFODILS)

I wonder in grief at the shroud;

That veils our land with young blacks’ kills,

All around US – a shameful cloud

My heart with blood red anger fills!

O’er the green land from seas to seas;

Drenched in gore; laying waste our peace!

Infinite do the crosses stand;

Silent sentinels to black gloom,

White Nazis in tight clubs they band;

Cop, jury, judge in sordid room!

I gaze in daze in troubled thought,

Deep pain and grief white spite has brought.

From present till the day I die,

Grieving alone in pensive mood,

Phantoms hid from averted eye;

That is the curse of lassitude,

And then my heart in tremors trills,

Writhing in pain of senseless kills!
