Blogging Isn't Dead – Lazy Marketers Are

Blogging Isn't Dead – Lazy Marketers Are

Ever noticed how every year someone loudly declares “Blogging is dead”?

Yet here we are, reading another post… on a platform that rewards long-form content.

So, who keeps pushing this nonsense? Usually:

? People selling social media hacks

? SEO “experts” pushing AI-generated junk

? Marketers who gave up blogging and want you to quit too

But let’s get real—if blogging was dead, Google would be empty. And last time I checked, it’s still flooded with blog posts.

Why They Want You to Stop Blogging

The loudest voices claiming blogging is dead are selling a shortcut.

  • Social media gurus: “Forget blogging, make Reels and TikToks!”
  • AI content sellers: “Blogging is dead! Buy our auto-generated posts instead!”
  • SEO agencies: “Blogging is dead! Pay us to rank your site!”

Notice the pattern? They don’t want you to blog because they want to sell you something else.

The Truth: Blogging Works Better Than Ever (If You Do It Right)

Here’s why smart marketers are still blogging:

1. People Still Google Everything

When someone needs real answers, they don’t scroll TikTok. They search Google.

And blogs dominate search results.

Ever Googled: “How do I stop my cat from destroying my furniture?”

You didn’t look for a 60-second Instagram video. You read a blog post.

2. Blogs Build Authority (Social Media Doesn’t)

Social media is a treadmill—stop posting, and you disappear.

A blog post, though? It ranks on Google for years.

Which looks more credible? A viral LinkedIn post or a detailed blog post that ranks on page one?

3. Unlike Social Media, Blogs Don’t Expire

Social posts die within hours. A blog post keeps bringing in traffic forever.

A well-written post today could still bring leads in 2027. Try that with a Tweet.

How to Make Blogging Work (While Others Quit)

1. Write for Humans First, Google Second

People don’t want keyword-stuffed nonsense. They want answers, stories, and insight.

? Bad: “The best protein powder for muscle growth (2025 update)”

? Good: “I tested 10 protein powders—here’s what actually works”

2. Go Deeper Than AI-Generated Content

AI can churn out basic listicles. You can win by being human.

  • Share personal experiences (“I actually tried this, here’s what happened”)
  • Tell stories (People remember real examples)
  • Offer genuine opinions instead of AI-generated fluff

3. Treat Your Blog as a Content Hub

Your blog should be the centre of your marketing.

? Share posts on LinkedIn

? Turn posts into Twitter threads

? Send blog highlights in email newsletters

A great blog fuels every other platform.

Final Thought: Blogging Isn’t Dead—Lazy Marketers Are

Blogging still works. People still Google things. And quality content still wins.

The only people saying blogging is dead are those who failed at it.

So, will you listen to the quitters? Or keep blogging and own your niche?

P.S. No time to write your own blog posts? I'll be able to help you with this... https://www.onlinevisibilityacademy.com/blog-copywriter/

P.P.S That link's a blog post that I put together in January. Currently in position 8 (and it will get better over time) in the UK in Google. Not bad for an hours work. Now I can't promise your content will do the same , but I'll do better for you than do for myself, in fact yours will be fab!
