Blog Post Copywriting Formulas for Content Writers and Marketers

Blog Post Copywriting Formulas for Content Writers and Marketers

We all know that landing pages are meant for selling something.?

But what about blog posts? Aren’t they also supposed to help SaaS, eCom, or any other service-providing companies sell using content?

As you guessed it– they’re!

And as a writer or content marketer, your job is to craft blog posts that are capable of– attracting, converting, and selling.?

That’s where you need blog post copywriting formulas.

I’ll share the three best blog post copywriting formulas that help companies sell in this short article.

1. AIDA

You might have heard of AIDA as a copywriting formula, but let me tell you that you can also use AIDA as a blog copywriting formula.

So AIDA stands for:

Attention: Grab your reader’s attention.

Interest: Generate interest and curiosity.

Desire: Provide something they desire or need.

Action: Make them take action.

Here’s an example:

Attention: Here’s how to create content that people and share: A step-by-step guide.

Interest: Make your reader curious with facts, studies, and stats.

Desire: Share a case study or studies to support your claim.

Action: Share about your platform or service that can help them.

Note: Make sure you craft an article that is related to what you offer.

2. The 6+1 Formula

According to Danny Iny of Firepole Marketing, AIDA missed an essential element –context. That’s why he came up with a better formula that covers the context part known as the 6+1 formula.

So the 6 in the 6+1 formula means:

  • Consider the CONTEXT.
  • Grab readers’ ATTENTION.
  • Move the reader slowly to DESIRE a solution to their problem.
  • Tell the reader what happens if they don’t take action– which is “the GAP.”
  • Offer the SOLUTION, and tell only as much as is necessary to take the next step.
  • Call the reader to ACT.

What’s +1?

Be CREDIBLE, always.?

3. PAS

Problem: Present a problem that your reader has.

Agitation: Poke at that problem until it’s visceral.

Solution: Offer your solution to the agitated problem.

This is probably the simplest copywriting formula ever.

Here’s an example:

Problem: 12 Dreadful Mistakes You’re Making as a Content Marketer.

Agitation: Use an emotionally agitating word or phrase.

Solution: Offer your product or service as a fix to the problem.

Simple?

It will be when you start using any of these formulas in your blog posts.
