Blog Overview

Hello everyone!

Back on Friday, I announced that I was planning to start a blog on here. Well, today, I’m back to give an overview of what the blog will consist of so everyone can have an idea of what to expect from it.

1. The blog’s name will be…well…I don’t exactly have a name for it yet. Consider it “under construction” for now. I guess it’s unofficial name will be “Ant’s Blog” until I come up with an actual name for it.
2. The blog—for the time being—will primarily consist of reviews and opinion pieces. These articles will go up every Thursday afternoon at 12 PM.
3. The reviews themselves will cover things like movies, TV shows, and video games. (Things like books, comics, and music will not be covered, unless I decide to change my mind one day.) These will cover newly released pieces of media.
4. Reviews won’t have scores. I opted to go this route because I don’t want them to feel too similar to the professional reviews that I did for Byte. I’d like for them to have a more casual and conversational feel to them, where the meat of the review can flow on its own and not have to be funneled into the box of the review score. (Also, creating a score can be quite tedious for me sometimes.) That being said, I will have general ratings that will be given at the end of the review.
5. There will be five ratings: Great, Good, Average, Mediocre, and Bad (original, I know). [Example: “Overall, I found this movie to be GREAT.”]
6. Opinion pieces will cover a wider net of subjects, where they are mainly articles revolving around whatever topic that I just find interesting to discuss. They can be theories regarding movies, me talking about things I’ve watched/played recently, etc. Like reviews, these can cover newer pieces of media, but these will have a focus on older pieces as well.
7. The blog will also feature weekly updates, where I simply detail what articles will go up that week. The update will go up every Tuesday morning at 10 AM.
8. Since the blog is just starting out—and is something that I’m quite new at—only one article will be posted per week. As time goes on, that number might increase; however, it is too early for me to tell when that will happen.
9. Blog articles will not go up during weeks where there are major holidays, I’m too busy, or if I simply do not have the drive to write. I will of course provide said details during the weekly updates.
10. If anyone has any feedback that they’d like to give, then please share it! Anything that will help the blog improve as it develops will be most appreciated.
11. Lastly, I just wanted to say that I’m mainly doing this for fun! I love talking about pop culture, and I want to share my writing with others. (And that said others actually, you know, like my writing.)
12. …okay, I fibbed. One last thing to say: the regular blog schedule will not start until next week. I still have some kinks left to work out regarding subjects for upcoming articles, so I'm going to need some more time.
