Over the last few weeks you may have seen some of my work where I have blogged about my colleagues, talked about opportunities , or highlighted some platforms that I help produce content for and one of my coworkers made a comment that I should blog to introduce myself to my readers.
So this blog is all about me, Kate Trimble. I am a Social Media Recruiter for Celebrity Staff and I love my job. It allows me to have a creative outlet, to connect with people, and to really showcase Celebrity Staff and all the talented people who work with us and for us! This blog will give you a glimpse of what keeps me inspired, what I like to do outside of work, and what I love about my job.
Me :)
What do you love about working in the staffing industry?
I love a good story of human triumph. I root for underdogs. I believe in second chances. When you are able to really help someone you believe in find an opportunity that has the potential to change the rest of their lives it is an amazing feeling. It takes team work always and it takes perseverance sometimes but it is always worth it. I have a deep sense of gratitude that people open themselves up to partnering with us and are open to sharing their stories so that we can be apart of their next chapters.
Omaha is my home! I have had the pleasure of working in the Des Moines market during my time at Celebrity Staff and have definately also developed a soft spot for the Des Moines community, and Iowa.
I brake for photo opportunities. I love art. Public art, murals, sculptures, glassworks, just general nature scenes, museums, etc. This beauty of a mural was found on a walking adventure in Baltimore and I took the picture specifically because I loved Lady Liberty and the corn #cornhuskers!
What are your interests outside of work?
I am a full time student working towards my Master of Science in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution at Creighton School of Law- Werner Institute. And I really love learning in general but I have a specific interest in this particular academic discipline which is good because it takes up a lot of space in the outside of work realm. Things that also fill up my interest cup: traveling, art, gardening, advocacy work, youth mentoring, coffee drinking, reading, interior decorating, hanging out with my family and friends ( and pets).
One of my favorite places on Earth is Bellingrath Gardens in Theodore, Alabama where I snapped this picture.
Any exciting bucket list items on the agenda for the year?
2017 should have a lot of adventure in store for me, and I am especially excited to travel to Ireland, Scotland, and England for two weeks with one of my bestfriends, Kayla. We have been planning this trip for over seven years. IT IS FINALLY HAPPENING IN JULY.
Speaking of cool trips in 2016 a group of my coworkers and I won a trip to Vegas through a sales competition at work. My favorite parts of Vegas included the Bellagio Botanical Gardens, Conservatory, and Fountains and the red velvet pancakes at Baby Stacks.
During said 2016 Vegas trip I made sure to cross something off the bucket list and visited the Grand Canyon. Completely fell in in love. 10 out of 10. Would recommend.
Where do you find inspiration?
As far as people who inspire me in the social media game I have a few that always spark creativity here are some designers, artists, creators, and brands I keep in my regular inspiration rotation.
As far as people who inspire me on a more personal human level I would say my grandmother, mother, and sister are some of my biggest inspirations and motivators.
Academic inspirations or people who spark some degree of academic perseverance in me when I need an extra boost include Vandana Shiva, Sir Ken Robinson, Anuradha Koirala, Rosalind Franklin, a specific essay by John Holt entitled “School Is Bad for Children” written in 1969 that I keep at my desk. For me it is important to feel personally inspired, career inspired, and academically inspired to balance me out.
Me at the Grand Canyon.Living my best life.
Baltimore, Maryland. Visited a friend and got to witness ArtScape which is America's largest free arts festival with over 350,000 people visiting over three days. Inspiration EVERYWHERE.

PRO-TIP: I booked my travel for my Vegas trip through C&A Industries' travel agency AurTravel #notsponsored which I highly recommend. They made making arrangements super simple for me which was nice since I had a lot on my plate.
