blog-10: getting on with it
getting on with it...is hard.
What keeps us going? How do we continue to show up, create new things, think strategically and be productive?
Hey there fellow business peeps. I've been a qualified winemaker for 20 years, a business owner for the past 5 years, and a mother to three gorgeous humans over the span of 11 years. So I carry a lot of understanding and empathy on how hard it is to keep going sometimes.
Obviously we each have different drivers towards our ideas of success - but in the past few years I've realised and valued how much the people around us have a huge impact on our thinking, our approach to our work and our capacity to persevere towards our goals.
I've tremendously valued the company, support and inspiration provided by my fellow co-workers here at Workspace Barossa. After all, that is the inspiration behind starting this co-working journey - to connect with others who are like-minded and passionate about #DoingGoodThings with their work & lives. I was lonely as a business consultant, some days twiddling my thumbs or just needing a quick chat to someone other than the dogs at home.
You know that feeling when the team or group gets together for an exciting brainstorming session or breakthrough strategy meeting? Well, at Workspace Barossa, it's a daily dose of camaraderie and creativity. Our monthly networking events bring together professionals from various industries; some are entrepreneurs - others are embracing the hybrid work opportunities from their employers.
The industry experts who host events here in our workshop, meeting & foyer spaces spark collaborations, encourage support, innovations and forge partnerships. We offer free marketing of these events to our contact list of like minded peeps - and if you need an extra hand to manage it, we are here to help with that too. After all, connecting further afield and sharing the good stuff that we're doing will help the world go around!
In these challenging times when the economy tries to throw us curve ball after curve ball, our community helps us stand tall as a beacon of collaboration and support. Sharing spaces and costs, we collectively navigate the storm and find strength in our connections. We encourage you to reach out and see how our services and community can help you in fostering a spirit of resilience and mutual growth.
The best part? Despite the gloomy forecasts, our community thrives, fostering long-lasting partnerships that withstand the toughest of economic downturns. I am forever grateful to those who have been with me through it all - Sam Cox , Angela Pickett , Dan Eggleton , Carly Thompson-Barry ACEcD , Laura Mudge , Katharine Crane , Brett Grocke , Tania Shirgwin , Steve Lacy , Megan Coles & Chris Rogers to name a few! Thank you for your support and shared vision throughout the past 4 years ?? As well as my family - it's not easy to watch the struggle of doing business, especially when you throw Covid-19 into the mix 8 months after starting out. But if we can get through that, and still have a smile on our faces; are passionate about what we do and why we do it...we're going ok!
The Workspace Barossa Community shows that in unity, we can navigate through difficult times and emerge stronger together.
In the end, Workspace Barossa isn't just an office space; it's a community that embodies respect, good humour, growth, and forging connections.
So, if you're looking for your own tribe to boost productivity, share expenses, and #DoGoodThings, join us at Workspace Barossa.
Our next networking "Meet Your Neighbours" event is Thursday 27 July 9-10am in Tanunda. Come share a coffee on us, and help each other move towards our goals. Together.
