Is a blocked customer really blocked ?
In Business Central a customer can be blocked so an order can not be created. This option is often used when customers are overdue in their payment terms.
In several integration projects we do with our Tinx-IT e-commerce connector, we come across the blocked customers option in BC. But the problem is that in default Magento a customer can not be blocked unless it will be deleted. Not a very good option, because all order history will also be lost and there is a possibility that the customer needs to be activated again. So a customer can create an order on the e-commerce platform but when the order comes in to BC problems occur because the order can not be created due to the blocked customer option.
In those cases we recommend installing the disable customer extension in Magento. This will prevent a blocked customer from logging in to the webshop and placing an order. The customer will get a notification that he can not login and needs to contact the customer support.
We can map this option from BC from the customer blocked option. When you are using in BC credit limits, we can also link this option to the BC customer balance field. If the balance is more than a certain amount, we will block the webshop customer account until the payments have been done.
