Blockchain enables the Future of Documents
Happy New Year LinkedIN friends!? While I am not ready to announce my next full-time role, I wanted to share more about a company I have been helping out the past couple months.? It’s been so much fun learning about the emerging world of blockchain, crypto, and Web3.? If you haven’t explored the decentralized world (and metaverse) yet, find some time in your 2022 plans because it is the next big wave in technology evolution and the transformation is upon us…
My good friend from Singapore, Chee Beng Ong, introduced me to Dedoco and their CEO, Daphne Ng.? Daphne and her co-founder Ernie Teo have an innovative approach to digital signing, document management and workflows with their platform built on blockchain technology.?
The entry point to the platform is digital signing.? Ask yourself (and your company), why you take your most important documents, NDAs, purchase orders, employment offers, stock grants, etc and you sign them electronically, then upload them to a cloud-based SaaS solution to sit there without expiry.? Rarely do you ever go back to that SaaS/cloud to search for an old agreement, because if it is important you have probably saved it somewhere else like your local drive or another cloud.? Yes, the cloud is secure, but breaches continue to increase, and your important document is just sitting there on the cloud waiting to be exposed.? The blockchain-based platform that Dedoco built enables the next level of tamper-proofing, trust, and verification. When you sign a document it does not get stored in a cloud.? You maintain control of your documents, and the document chain of custody is written to the blockchain in a manner which is 100% secure and verifiable.
The “Future of Documents” with Dedoco is even more interesting than digital signing and blockchain enables a bunch of cool use cases.? When you are collaborating in Office 365 on your desktop or Google Docs in a browser, think about all the time you waste with version control and managing access.? Think about how much time is wasted with legal teams and business leaders figuring out what changes were made between versions of documents.? If you are integrating your documents and contracts with large platforms like Salesforce, Zendesk, Workday, Atlassian, you have made your company more efficient, but you have increased security risk and taken control of documents away from your users and put into multiple clouds.? With the Dedoco API, they are building integrations with major platforms to solve these problems and help the cloud based Web2 world move to Web 3 environments and the metaverse.? There are millions of potential use cases across all industries to increase operational efficiency, improve compliance and enhance security and the Dedoco API is ready to enable the future of documents.

It’s early days for web3 and decentralized applications like Dedoco.? They are building an amazing team and off to an astonishing start, and this emerging company based in Singapore is ready to go global!?
Send me a message to let me know what you think, and if you have other ideas to scale this business.?
Setup an account with Dedoco, and give it a try for free the next time you need to sign a document.? And....if you want to explore other use cases using the API, let me know and I’ll get you in touch with the team.

3 年Very cool project Todd! I checked them out but didn't see any mention of 3rd party security audits, data handling/processing compliance, etc. (though I'm sure it's probably already something you guys have already considered). From a utility perspective, I'm assessing every blockchain-based company with a "zero-trust-first" mentality until I better understand how secure they are. My buddy Mikhail Yerganjiev at CertiK, an industry-leading blockchain auditing firm, helps companies establish that trust as an integral part of an organization's GTM strategy. If the folks at Dedoco haven't already partnered with an auditing firm, perhaps a conversation could go a long way. Awesome stuff!
