That was what brought it to the mainstream. But there is more to Blockchain than that. So much more!

I agree that standing between love and hate Blockchain faced a lot of different opinions, but contrary to it, the use of Blockchain didn’t stop. The technique may be hazardous for the old transaction techniques, but the blockers failed to limit its capacity. Blockchain is going to play an important part in our future.

Before getting into the trends of Blockchain in 2019 let’s see, is it helpful for business? It is helping the companies in many ways by behaving as a trusted transaction medium. It is a competitor for banks or transaction sources but besides that, everyone is having huge advantages.

In my opinion Blockchain in 2019 is going to have remarkable trends and records. The efficiency, scalability, dependability all are going to be advanced within the next few months.

I can say that Blockchain is a magical way of dealing with numerous problems, but there are many which Blockchain failed to resolve. While alternative technologies can better solve these problems, I cannot see Blockchain as a complete structure without further improvement on the technology.

Hence, researchers and companies are going to work in 2019 on better use cases for Blockchain. As it is today there is an exploratory approach to it. Companies aim to find the places where Blockchain can be fit. As technology evolves and mature, new business cases will emerge naturally without the need to retrofit everything into Blockchain to see it fits. It will take its time, but we will see it solving real problems soon.

Blockchain image is going to be changed. UX must change to!

As I already said that Blockchain is between love and hate, some business, companies or consumers keep themselves at a distance because of its image and reputation. People are educated in 2019 about the area of Blockchain entirely so that they can decide well. There is a difference between cryptocurrencies and Blockchain, and people must get cleared as they always see both from the same side. I can see many uses of Blockchain that people might not be familiar with.

There’s also a huge space to user experience improvement. As more applications come out the user experience must change. I’ll be looking for new, customer-centric and enhanced ways to bring Blockchain alive to everyone. In a seamless and secure way.

Blockchain vs Cryptocurrencies

Words or terms matter a lot for all of us. A great brand name will automatically create a positive impact and resonate on my mind. I will associate it with positive things. Blockchain is still somewhat glued to Bitcoin. And Bitcoin is still seen as a hoax. It was all over the news when it was hitting all-time records every day. Suddenly it disappeared!

For getting Blockchain to a next level, the term must be clarified. That’s the role of each one of us, the early adopters. Distributed ledger technology, on the other hand it’s becoming the big enterprise term. It’s a positive term that people will adopt without any hesitation.

The advantage of bringing out the best of the underlying technology is that it automatically eradicate the influence of crypto from all the business owners.

Blockchain will combine with IoT

IoT is everywhere nowadays because we are more towards grabbing the latest technologies. I also understand the fact that IoT is now compulsory and its induction with various new technologies make it even vast. Even AI, machine learning and Blockchain are also included in the IoT and for this separate use cases are required.

I can see the influence of IoT in business as it can raise the marketplace of the companies. More and more Blockchain projects will combine with IoT in 2019 for a vast impact.

Blockchain experts demand

As we can see that in future Blockchain is going to have a rapid increase, but people don’t have enough knowledge of Blockchain. Business and companies need Blockchains experts for implementing the system accurately, so shortly I can see the demand of Blockchain experts. A quick search on freelancing sites reveals very few Blockchain experts available for now.

As a developer, one should really consider investing in learning smart contracts, cryptography and Blockchain development. Even if the technology is not yet mainstream, there’s no doubt that it’s here to stay. Developers should see it has an investment in their future.

Larger companies should develop their own Blockchain Center of Excellence to support their ventures. There is a grand advantage in doing so. Existing developers and product owners can use it to answer disruptive business epics. Hiring new blood for this can also push companies forward and reach new heights.

Further use cases for government Blockchain adoption

Here and there, governments as trying Blockchain or Distributed Ledger Technologies. There are many use cases on property registration, quality control for food production and distribution, fight against counterfeiting of patents and Intellectual Property and so on. Since government authorities can enforce the usage of a decentralized platform, they are an excellent place to start seeing large implementations improving citizen services.

Additionally, developing countries could be the most positive places for blockchain growth due to the immature financial, record and legal systems. They can literally leap stages of development. In 2019 I can see more government initiatives from government to adopt it for their purposes.

In short, Blockchain is going to improve and grow in 2019. As the technology roadmap unfolds there is still much to do coaching and promoting education and meetups at schools and universities.
