Blisters Your Eyes And The Effect Is For Life
OK, spoiler alert, cell phones emit microwave radiation, which they use to link to the cell network, so you can see where this is going. The question is, how do we know what the effect is on our eyes?
Like many things to do with the effect of cell phone microwave radiation, the scientific evidence has been around for years; but often buried under the weight of studies paid for by telecoms companies. In this case we need to go back to 2008 when a study was conducted by the Israel Institute of Technology and the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at Washington University School of Medicine. They were trying to find out if microwave emitted from phones did anything other than increase heat in the body, as a kitchen microwave heats food.
Clearly no one was likely to volunteer to have a microwave emitting device placed next to their eyes, so they used lenses from the eyes of freshly slaughtered 1 year old calves and exposed them to 1.1GHz, 2mW. A control group of lenses were not exposed to the microwave radiation.
There were two effects on the exposed group, the first being that there was an increase in heat, but this did not appear to have a long term effect.
The second was ‘bubbles’ on the surface of the exposed lenses, and this was permanent. The effect of the bubbles was to scatter light which passed through the lens, which if the eye was still in the calf’s head and the calf was still alive, it would have damaged eyesight.
So, what of us humans who press little microwave transmitters to our heads, close to our eyes? Well, it’s probably not a good thing to do, which an eye surgeon friend of mine confirmed. I also once mentioned to him another study that showed eye exposure to microwave from a phone increased by up to x 25 if you wore metal framed glasses.
His reply? “At least.”
But what can we do about this problem, as none of us want our eyes damaged, let alone blistered by microwave? There are a few solutions, including reducing the time you spend on calls, holding the phone away from your head, using the thing on speaker, or using airtube headsets (though microwave still runs up the metal cable past your body).
Or use a Cool Call device with your cabled headphones / earphones www.coolercoms.com
Oh, and one last thing. Don’t think about using just cored earphones, as they have been shown to increase your head’s exposure by up to 300%, as the microwave just skitters straight up the metal cable core to your head. Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings with that little nugget, but at least we have a positive solution in Cool Call.

5 年Great post Nick, don’t get tired of spreading the message. I always use ear plugs and never put the phone next to my head for this very reason. I know too many people who have died or suffering from cancer that originated in their body where they carried their phone. The truth is covered with deception.
