BLISS IN FIVE MINUTES

Emotional Recalibration To Therapeutically Empower You Through Life's Toughest Challenges
Meditation tends to freak a lot of people out
I’ve forgotten how many times I’ve been told
I can’t clear my mind
And slightly less often
It’s not for me
My mind wanders
I feel silly
I don’t have the time
Here’s the thing...
Your mind is meant to think.
That’s its job. So don’t go for empty. The more you try, the less you’ll allow. It’s impossible to imagine nothing and or everything, until you experience oneness, and then it’s impossible to imagine anything else, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves... in the meantime, or for those times you’d like to get five or ten minutes of experiencing a form of “meditation” choose to see it as going deeper within yourself, nothing more, just going deeper... and have a go at this exercise.
Rather than trying to cancel your thoughts, give them somewhere to go, like a gentle redirection... consider your practise? as more of a daydream, where you get to decide exactly what happens and how. Find a quiet spot. Set yourself a timer of five to ten minutes, make sure the alarm sound is gentle and not too close to your ears.
Just get as comfortable as you can. If you have them, use as many squishy cushions and blankets as you like to support yourself and be cosy.
Give yourself five to ten minutes.
Spend a few moments giving thought to your breath and your body. Concentrate on how your breath feels with the rise and fall of your chest. Notice how your body feels; where there’s tightness, perhaps tingling sensations as you relax into your experience with no expectations. When you are ready, take three cleansing breaths before you drift away.
Go wherever makes you feel good.
A memory, or something yet to come.
Perhaps you remember a lover’s embrace.
Perhaps you see yourself achieving something that you have wanted for a long time.
Perhaps you remember a time when you had to take a chance and you felt exhilarated.
Perhaps you see yourself in dappled shade under a parasol on the beach.
You will instinctively know where you want to be.
Once you’re there,
Let yourself go.
Experience everything as vividly as if it were real.
See yourself
As you want to
Make it real in your mind
Enjoy it
Sink into it
Indulge in it
Appreciate it
As if it were happening right now.
Notice every detail
What you see
What you feel
What you hear
What you smell and taste
Mmmm
Thank yourself.
You did that.
Remember you can return and develop this whenever you want.
