Blindsided

Sometimes you get blindsided by news that isn’t so good.
Or maybe someone you know has been hit with some bad misfortune.
I just heard someone dear to me tested positive for breast cancer.
It made my heart sink.
When we hear or experience bad news, often we just keep going.
Maybe the news would incapacitate you.
Often, we cope, adapt and make decisions to take steps forward without thinking or feeling.
We live in the moment, which possibly is a good way to go for the most part.
In the rhythm of life, I have been hit with some misfortune and bad stuff. When it happens to us, it is so real. We worry, take stock and think bad thoughts.
When it happens to others or we hear it on the news, we become shocked, become angry, sad, become numb, disinterested or disconnected. It is often too much for our hearts and mind to take in.
It could be how we cope and survive as human beings – we process what we can and then try to help those we can.
Yet, I hurt when someone I know and love is in pain.
We pray for their recovery and that they retain their joy - and what they impactfully bring to us.
If you are in pain or are suffering, we appeal for your bountiful healing, too.
