The Bio-Wired App measures employee wellbeing in real-time biometric data with an AI wellbeing coach monitoring optimal ranges with escalation to the EAP. Google’s Doodle today celebrates the 140th birthday of Casimir Funk (23 February, 1884 – 19 November, 1967). A Polish American biochemist, he was the first to formulate the concept of “vital amines” or vitamins and essential nutrients. Funk proposed the hypothesis that diseases, such as rickets, pellagra, coeliac disease, and scurvy could also be cured by vitamins. He postulated the existence of vitamins B1, B2, C, and D. This groundbreaking scientific and nutritional discovery helped cure several life-threatening diseases. Funk also conducted research into hormones, diabetes, peptic ulcers, and the biochemistry of cancer.

The World Economic Forum predicts AI may replace around 85 million jobs by 2025. However, with economic growth and diversification of roles, we will also see the creation of 97 million new roles during this time. Companies who will survive into the future are those already planning for transformation alongside AI technologies and and training their employees with new skills to support this change.

There are 75,000 apps for mental health and very few have been researched, tested and evaluated. The challenge still remains in reaching the people who need help. Companies which will succeed AI workplace transformation, are those prioritising a human first strategy ahead of smarter machines. This means organisations leading with a vision of the future which supports workers with the skills needed for a sustainable career. WFH/Remote Working is a small part of this equation, just as health is only one aspect of optimal wellbeing. We must be careful of overriding themes which can inadvertently act as a smokescreen.
