What are the steps to improving the quality of your life?

Here’s a short video detailing the steps I detail with clients early on. It’s common sense when you think about them and proven to work. However, often a blind spot or two leads to missed steps causing a barrier to the life you want and frustration, even sadly burn-out.

Do you know the difference between a coach and a mentor??

No, that’s not the start of a funny joke! As someone who both coaches and mentors I often see confusion amongst business owners around these two distinct roles.?

First, what’s mentoring? As a concept, it is a simple one “an individual sharing their knowledge, skills and/or experience to help others to progress”. Even the most successful business people surround themselves with a support network.??

Winning is a team game and in my experience those that continue to always feel the need to be the cleverest person in the room, because they own the firm, eventually learn this the hard way.??

However, to grow a business you grow the owner.???

In my experience mentoring alone will not achieve this. Really successful people in all walks of life have coaches, someone to support their development with an outside view for the long haul.???

I like the definition from one of my own educators, Myles Downey “Coaching is the art of facilitating the performance, learning and development of another”. It is not advising or consulting.???

My coach likes to reference Pete Carroll (Head Coach Seattle Seahawks, NFL) “Each person holds so much power within themselves that needs to be let out. Sometimes they just need a little nudge, a little direction, a little support, a little coaching, and the greatest things can happen.”??
