BLIND LEADING BLIND
“The MAGA bunch , Rupert included , are looking for a more electable fascist. Even many of the uneducated are getting wise to Trump”.
"It amazes me that people like this guy think the answer is to go further right. Because why? Do you think Americans love you guys? Or Trump? You guys didn't lose the last 4 elections just because of Trump (Yes I said 4. Clinton had 2.9 million more votes than Trump in 2016) Or 7 of the last 8 Presidential elections. (Gore had more votes than Bush in 2000) Reagan had 24 million more votes than his opponents in 1980 and 1984. He had an argument for some sort of mandate. No republican president in the last 30 years has had one. Going to the extreme right isn't popular in the US. Look at this last election. The nuttier they got the bigger the losses."?
“Still, at issue is that the majority of the country wants to head in a different direction -- significantly, the population that is more educated and understand what is going on. GOP is on an uphill battle, and it keeps getting steeper, so the only real way to make headway for them is lie, subvert, confuse, narrate a false story, and cheat". Indy
?So, here's what really happened:
“INTO THE 1990'S THEY CREATED A NETWORK OF MEDIA OUTLETS TO COUNTER THE LEGITIMATE MAINSTREAM JOURNALISM THAT HAS SO FREQUENTLY EXPOSED THEIR CORRUPTION, AND TO SPREAD DISINFORMATION AND BIZARRE IDEOLOGY.”

??1- In the late 1970's a "new" republican party emerged that sought to bring far right conservative ideas to the mainstream. Made up of former democrats who stood against civil rights they quickly became the dominate voice and thought leaders of a once-reasonable party.
2- It picked up steam in the 1980's as they began a systematic, state-by-state push to radicalize state houses and governorships, assisted by the seeding of prosperity christianity, non-denominational mega churches (so-called "evangelicals"). This is when they began to attack the notion of expertise and intellectualism.
3- Into the 1990's they created a network of media outlets to counter the legitimate mainstream journalism that has so frequently exposed their corruption, and to spread disinformation and bizarre ideology.
4- In the 21st century, they pushed hard across all of these fronts to establish a "new" America, separate and apart from reality, even going so far as to pervert the English language to support their ever expanding web of easily disprovable political and social ideas, and have gone state-by-state to reach out the most radicalized, far right groups and organizations.
5- In trump they finally found a man so devoid of character that they could use him for everything they wanted to get but never could.... Anthony
