THE BLESSING OF CONTENTMENT.

FOUNDATION SCRIPTURE:

? Philippians 4:11-12 ?

"I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want."

HOLY SPIRIT, HAVE YOUR WAY.

Contentment is a blessing that brings peace and joy regardless of our circumstances. Let us learn to be content in all situations, trusting that God is working for our good.

Paul,vwriting from prison, declares that he has learnt to be content in all circumstances. This was not in any way a resignation to fate, but a conscious state of mind rooted in his faith in God.

Paul's contentment isn't dependent on his external situation. Whether he's in need or has plenty, is well-fed or hungry, he remains content. A radical perspective that goes against our natural inclinations. We often think, "If only I had this job," or "If only my circumstances were different, then I'd be happy." But Paul shows us a different way.

The key word here is "learned." Contentment ??
