Past Sunday as God will have it, we had what is called "Pulpit Rotation." This is a time when the Minister in charge in a given location is sent to another location.
?The essence of this program is to create awareness on why worshippers should be a blessing to the one who feeds them spiritually.
?I will be sharing a piece on the message I preached in the location that I was sent. This is for those who like to use knowledge to get lifted.
?Read and be blessed.
Topic: The blessedness in honoring your Pastor.
?Text: Mt 10:40-42.
?Blessed means Makarios in Greek. This means to be happy, fortunate, and well-off.
?Honor means Timao in Greek. This means to revere, venerate, to price, and fix a valuation upon.
?Pastor means Poimen in Greek. This means headsman, shepherd, presiding officer, one who cares or controls others.
?In the scripture, a Pastor can also be called:
?A) Elder (presbuteros in Greek). Irrespective of his age. 1 Tim 5:1.
?B) Angel of the Church (aggelos). Rev 2: 1,8,12,18; Rev 3:1,7,14. An angel of the Church means envoy, a messenger from God, the messenger of good tidings.
?From the definitions above, the blessedness in honoring your Pastor means the wellness and fortunate things you attract to yourself by placing a high value on your Pastor as God's messenger.
?We shall consider this topic in two points.
?Point 1
The levels of honor to your Pastor. Mt 10:40-42.
From the Bible reading above, we have three levels of honor you can give to your Pastor. They are:
?A) Receiving him as one sent by God to the location. Mt 10:40.
?From the depth of your heart, you must ensure that you received your Pastor as one sent to the location or Parish to make your destiny to be fortunate and well.
?Rms 10:15; Is 6:8; Mt 10:1-5.
?The word sent as used in Rms 10:15 means apostello in Greek. It means one is ordered to go to a location appointed. It is either God asked him to go there or God used the authority of the Church to send him.
?To preach means to proclaim the Gospel which must be listened to and obeyed.
Rms 13:1-2; tells us that all authority is ordained by God. Resisting them means that you are resisting God. This will make their proclamations over your life not to come to pass since you didn't receive them. Even prophecies that are genuine over your life will be hard to be fulfilled because of your attitude. Ps 105:14-15; Gal 5:10; Gal 6:17.
?Bible has some examples of those that were sent.
i) Paul was sent. Acts 9:15-16; Acts 22:21.
ii) Moses was sent. Ex 3:10.
iii) Esther was sent. Esth 4:14.
B) Receiving them as God's messenger to your life. Mt 10:41.
You must receive and honor your Pastor as God's messenger, prophet, and angel in your life. You must see their actions as part of God's agenda for sending them there provided they are not sinful. Deut 32:4; 2 Cor 5:21; 1 Cor 1:30. If it's sinful, pray for them. Don't join a group against them. Num 12:1-10; it could be disastrous.
By the prophet, it means God's spokesman. That means their words over your life are from God and He will perform them.
Mt 21:11 tells us that Jesus was received as the Prophet of Nazareth, that's why in Acts 3:6, Peter used His Name to heal the crippled man at the beautiful gate.?
When you receive your Pastor as God's messenger, his words over your life will be honored by God. Is 44:26.?
The Bible has examples of those that received God's messengers for the life:
i) the widow of Zarephath to Elijah. 1 Kings 17:8-15.
ii) The elders of Bethlehem to prophet Samuel. 1 Sam 16:1-6.
iii) The saints at Lydda to Peter. Acts 9:32-35.
C) Receiving them as one worthy of your physical blessings. Mt 10:42.
The same way you don't mind nourishing and blessing a little child is the same way you must ensure that your spiritual head is nourished. Mt 18:1-6.
If actually God has used your Pastor to reveal and teach you some spiritual truths is the same way you should bless them with physical things. 1 Cor 9:7-15. It is their right though a wise Pastor might not demand it. Don't deny them.
If you deny them this right, you should note that you are sowing the wrong seed for yourself. Gal 6:6,7. Don't destroy your future harvest by thinking it doesn't matter. It really does. Eph 6:5-9.
The Bible has some examples of those that blessed their spiritual head with physical things.
i) Zarephath's widow honored Elijah with a meal. 1 Kings 17:8-16.
ii) The Church at Phillipe honored Paul with gifts. Ph 4:10-18.
Point 2
The blessedness of honoring your Pastor. Mt 10:40-42.
You must count yourself fortunate to have a Pastor who accepts your different levels of honor to him. This is because the less is blessed by the better. Heb 7:7.
The word reward used in the anchor scripture means Misthos in Greek. It means to pay for service whether good or bad.
You are the one that will determine what type of payment you wish to receive from God.
For those who actually demonstrated the three levels of honor as discussed in point 1, there are three levels of reward and blessedness that await them. They are:
A) The reward of power and grace for receiving them as God's sent to your destiny. Mt 10:40; Jh 1:12-16.
The same victory, power, and grace that is enjoyed by the Pastor you received with your whole heart, will be reproduced in you. Any battle in life they conquered will never surmount you. Can you think about that? It is worthy to be imagined and meditated on. You do yourself ill and remain on the same level fighting a battle when you can kill the battle by walking with the grace the Lord has bestowed on your spiritual head.
The Bible has examples of those who reproduced the same power and grace on their spiritual head because they received them.
i) Jesus cast out devils and his disciples did the same. Mk 1:21-27; Lk 10:17.
ii) Elijah parted Jordan, and Elisha did the same. 2 Kings 2:7-15.
B) The reward of manifesting the testimonies of his prayers and prophecies for receiving him as God's messenger. Mt 10:41; Ps 99:6; Num 6:22-27.
You must remember that in the beginning, it was stated that the words spoken to you by your Pastor must be taken as Word directed to your life by God which must be listened to and obeyed.
If you take their words seriously, God will be committed to ensuring that all they say in your life is confirmed, done, and brought to pass by him.?
The Bible has examples of those who received Words made by their spiritual head and received the blessing of obedience.
i) The blessings of life from destruction. Ex 12:28-30. The Israelites were preserved from the activity of the angel of destruction by strictly doing what Moses asked them to do.
ii) The blessings of conquering battles of life. 1 Samuel 1: 12-18.
There are individuals who have fought a single battle of life for years. This ought not to be so since it could be done away with by a word or statement from your spiritual head whom you have received as God's messenger.?
Your Pastor speaks into your life and nothing changes might be due to your perception of his person. Not minding the misunderstanding or misconception you have about him, don't allow that to interfere with the office that God has placed him in as His messenger and spokesman. If you do, you will keep hurting yourself badly. You might not know it now, if it won't be too late, you will discover it.
How many of you will remain in a Church where the Pastor accused or insulted you when you are innocent? Those things are spiritual traps for your lifting.
Hannah would have lost out if she has insulted prophet Eli as one that is insensitive and lukewarm for not knowing that she was pouring her heart into God. But 1 Sam 1:15 tells us that she was too wise to lose her miracle in the corridor of its establishment.?
When she passed the test, God ensured that her reverence to Prophet Eli got her liberated from years of apparent barrenness.?
You have aborted a lot of your Samuel by talking back at your Pastor because you fill that he is at fault.
Please stop and get reconciled back to him. Don't ever leave a Church because of that.
iii) The reward of entering the places meant for masters. Philemon 1:8-17;
There are spiritual and physical heights meant for masters. If you honor them, you will enter therein. Ask Onesimus. Their recommendation is very powerful and can't be bought over by anything. Honoring them as God's sent is the currency for accessing them.
C) The reward of creating a heavenly account of fruit for yourself for honoring them with physical things.
Mt 10:42; Heb 13:17; Ph 4:17.
There is an investment that can never go bad nor depreciate. Can you imagine that?
The best example of such is an investment that was deliberately done by honoring your Pastor with physical things.
Fruit is a result of a seed. In this case, the seed is a physical thing.?
As you give your Pastor physical things, you are planting a tree for yourself with a fruit on it. The fruit is yours and can be withdrawn in a time of need.
Your Pastor and you are the joint signatories to the account. You can't withdraw good pay from it when you have sown bad things to him.
Heaven verifies his comment on it before releasing the request you made according to Heb 13:17 above.
The fruit can come in the following ways:
1) The fruit can come from God giving you a revelation with his face on how that challenge can be conquered. Acts 10:1-6;?
2) The fruit might come from God revealing your challenge to your Pastor and he prays about it with or without your knowledge. Acts 10:9-21.
3) The fruit might come from you or someone that knows about it telling your Pastor about it and he prays about it. Acts 9:36-41.
There are some miracles you received even when you stopped praying about it, but unknown to you demand was made for a withdrawal from your heavenly bank account by your spiritual head, which was granted with yes. Ph 4:17.
You should note that Ph 4:19 is for those who have an account in the heavenly bank of God's riches in glory because of the labor of physical blessings to the one God sent to oversee their spiritual affairs.
i) Divine intervention on deadly diseases. Ph 2:25-30; Ps 107:20.?
Whenever sickness is around, destruction is calling. Your physical blessings to you Pastor can bring God's mercy of healing to you. Epaphroditus enjoyed it.
ii) Divine intervention in a time of scarcity of resources. 1 Kings 17:16. By feeding of prophet Elijah the widow received an exception from insufficiency in the time of extreme need. Lev 26: 4,5,6.
Your physical gift to your Pastor might be the seed that you ensure that no battle of unemployment or career barrenness can come near you so that your family will be continuously fed. Ps 144:12-15.
iii) Divine intervention from dead things that should be alive.
There are things that had left one's life and they say it's God's will. It might not be so.?
You have been a blessing to your Pastor physically and could create that consciousness in you that this thing ought not to be so.?
a) the Zarephath widow's son. 1 Kings 17; 17-24. God heard the voice of Elijah and intervened.
b) Mary and Martha's case with the death of their brother. Lk 10:38-42; Mt 26:7-10; Jh 11:1-3,44-45.?
c) The Shunammite woman's son. 2 Kings 4: 18-20, 32-37.
d) Receiving manifestations of request and prophecies not demanded but needed. 2 Kings 4: 8-17.
You can trade that need by observing a need in the life of your Pastor and attending to it without him asking.
?In conclusion, God is faithful to His Word and all His promises are yes. 2 Cor 1:20.?
?Work with this truth and see your life get transformed.
?I am sharing this because I am led to do so since it is a secret someone is waiting for to get out of that challenge.?
Prayer
1) Ensure you are Born Again. If you are not, make this prayer:
Lord Jesus, I am a sinner, I confess You as Lord of my life and I believe in my heart that You died and on the third day, God the Father raised You from the dead. Thank You for saving me, I am now born again. Rms 10:9,10.
2) Ask God to have mercy on you in all the ways you have wronged yourself by not honoring your Pastor. Promise him to change and to act accordingly. Jms 1:22.
I am awaiting your testimonies.
Please like and share with others. You might be the deliverer someone is waiting for. Please, share and help someone to help someone.
God bless us.
