Blessed beyond my Imagination

Blessed beyond my Imagination

Last week I had the opportunity to travel to San Diego for graduation in the Genius Marketing Program which is a hard core 16 week course on everything marketing. It was a challenge and forced me to think out of the box which I thought I already did that but this course made me do that on a whole new level.

The trip started in complete chaos because I get to the airport and my flight has been canceled but I could drive 2 hours and catch a flight from Huntsville and make it but I would have to drive like an Indy Pace Car Driver...and I did! Get to my gate and the flight is delayed an hour and finally get on the plane just to have to wait on clearance from Dallas that we could head their way. The hour passed and we were made to get off the plane and 5 mins after being off the plane we get the go ahead to leave so we had to go through the entire process again and finally 2 hours past flight time we are in the air.

Just when I think that everything will get better and mean I was thinking it can't get much worse right? I was wrong and the flight was 4 hours delayed once we got to Dallas and we were pushing deadline because of the curfew at San Diego Airport. We made it just within a 10 minute window. Finally 3 am I get to my hotel and my nerves were so shot I didn't sleep very well but woke up early to go to the mall because my luggage didn't make it and well I didn't want to be the only graduate in a bright Under Armour shirt even thought it was my favorite shirt.

Finally it's time to head to San Diego Padres stadium which was rented out for the graduation and Ed Mylett, Daymond John, Dene Graziosi, and the Co-Founder of ClickFunnels were set to speak. As the ceremony starts I'm really just in disbelief that I'm even there sitting on the Padres Field and I look up and I'm on the jumbotron. That was really the first time it really hit me that even though it was a crazy path to get there from Alabama that it really is no different that the path I've traveled to get to where I'm at in my story (Career). I sat there and thought about all the times I felt lost, lonely, defeated, exhausted and the feeling that maybe I'm headed or searching for the wrong path. Questioning every step, every hurtle, every difficult thing that has tried to discourage me from reaching my goals and becoming the best version of myself so I can fulfill my calling to impact others.

I had all of these negative thoughts going through my head until Ed Mylett got to the stage which was the last speaker on the agenda. He said something that made me take a entire new mindset approach to where I was at during that exact moment. Some might look from the outside and think, How does he do it? How has he accomplished what he has after some of the hurtles he has faced? Especially this year because without going into many details it's been one of the best years but the hardest mentally and emotionally of my entire 39 years of life. I'm the type of person that keeps everything to myself so most wouldn't even know the challenges I've faced. It seemed like Ed was speaking directly to me as he told stories of his journey to the top.

Sometimes as business owners we have to take a second and step away from the Chaos and realize we deserve to be exactly where we are because of the sacrifices we as entrepreneurs have given up to get to our destination.

I think about all the late nights at the office that I sacrificed time with my relationships and family chasing my calling that I have so much faith is my purpose. Wondering how can I be everything for everyone and still have enough energy to love myself and enjoy the journey. Thoughts like is this journey worth it, will I get there, if I don't make it to a level soon that I can balance more time to commit to my family then I'm gonna be all alone and these sacrifices would be for nothing and in case your not in the know you can't buy time in the past only in the future. What I mean by that is nothing is promised tomorrow but we can hire a team and delegate task to our team so that we can buy some time to make it home early, show up early to ball games, go on a midday Chucky Cheese fun day or walk at the park with the people that mean the most to us.

The next morning I get an early start to the airport and I stop by Billy Gene's Studio and it really was so surreal and motivated me to even push myself that much harder but do it in a smarter way because I realized that with his team helping put on the event that he couldn't have done it without his team. I had 8 hours of flying and layovers to think about how I was going to buy time when I got back.

Now it's the week after and I had one of the biggest weeks of my career and finally made all the deadlines by Friday. I used some of the knowledge from the keynote speakers about how to maximize your day and I listened to podcast from all of them and they all thought the same which must work because they all are Game Changers and are responsible for creating BILLIONS of REVENUE and has created 1,000 of jobs for people just like you and me so that they could support their families.

When your building a legacy most don't realize the pressure that comes with that because true entrepreneurs thinks of others before themselves so there is a lot of added pressure and responsibility that comes with that title of CEO. Just from the flight alone I had over 90 voicemails to listen to on the 2 hour ride home from the airport. The average person couldn't handle that mentally but that's what separates the average from the rest.

I'm nowhere near at my final destination but I think I got a little better direction and plan to get there and it's not doing it alone. I've already started the process to build the team and put together the necessary systems to move my company forward to where I know it's capable of being.
