Bless a Child this Christmas
Dear Friends,
Jolted awake in the dead of night by men pounding on her family's door, Daescena,11, knew she was in trouble. ISIS had taken her hometown of Quarakosh, Iraq. Help now. Bless a Child this Christmas
Since they were Christians, Daescena, her father and mother, Karim and Fateha, and her two younger siblings, Ninos and Ivan, were taken captive by an ISIS military unit and forced to convert to Islam. To protect her, Daescena's parents lied about her age as ISIS is known to take girls as young as 10 to be sex slaves.
Dear Friend, today would you give a gift of $25, $50, $100 or more to bring much needed hope to vulnerable families like Daescena's in Iraq and around the world?
After three months the family managed to escape thanks to a Muslim taxi driver who drove them through 14 ISIS checkpoints to the city of Erbil.
Though they've escaped from ISIS, the family now finds themselves living as IDPs (Internally Displaced Persons) with little but the clothes on their backs and the harsh cold of winter closing in. We need to start helping Daescena and hundreds of other IDP children in Iraq by providing warm winter coats and shoes.
Thank you for standing with our Christian brothers and sisters in war-torn Iraq and around the world. Will you help even more desperate families this Christmas season?
May God bless you,
Societe Braende
