The Blasted or Beneficial Cover Letter?

Let's be brutally honest: If you hate writing, have nothing to say about yourself or struggle to link your lived experience (professional and personal) to the role you are applying for - you will have a problem with a Cover Letter. But, is it really and truly needed? Why do employers keep demanding that I write... even more? And is teh Cover Letter meant to benefit me or the employer?
If Human Growth [knowledge, achievements, education, relationship-building, advice, guidance, analysis, evaluation... (etc)] is the foundation of Wisdom, then our passion to embrace it and share it is natural. So, why the unwillingness to embrace the Cover Letter and to demonise it as it were a detention for doing wrong? Well, the answer to this may well be in my opening paragraph.
Tell "YourStory": has to be the most signifciant opportunity in life. And being able to bind ones spoken words and written examples to the reason one is 'best qualified' for a particular role, benefical to an Organisation and positively influential to a team - has to be the most important 'selling points' that one can highlight in their application for a employment role. "Your GOAL is to work with people - not for a Company", it could be said. Does that lighten the load (lol)?
The Interview: Employers want to learn about your character and personality, and whether your "life experience" has a powerful connection to the role you are applying for. Make the case! So, why not Introduce "YOU" in your Cover Letter - providing valuable information in your 'written' leadership to influence the scope and direction of the conversation at the interview.

Are you still a hater? (The answer to that question may well be in my opening paragraph).
Best wishes.
