Blank Page Opportunities

?? I feel like some of us may be stuck in the status quo in order to not disturb the expectations of the next generation. That's fair. Stability, location of schools, and friend groups are all important considerations for parents. I remember the repeated stories of how many times my Dad had to move in his school years.

But there comes this moment when change is already in the works. The page on the book is turning, and a blank page of an unwritten future lies waiting. Life events like graduations, job moves and even divorces force change on us.

We may look at this blankness and see a moment in time when a lifestyle shift, like going tiny, would be less magnified. But often this moment and the unknown future feels too uncertain to add more change into the mix.

Might I suggest that when the future is still foggy, we have the greatest opportunity to restructure our priorities, our behaviors, our lifestyle, our own intended future. This is also a moment to set an example for the next generation about how they might want to take care of themselves and their priorities rather than following the default script.

Maybe you are still far away from a natural segue. It seems like just yesterday that the young emoji ???? pictured was just entering high school.
