No Blame Here ..Move Along ..
We all know the story.. It is blame the "other" guy. I think that is a real problem prevalent today. As we all sit around our respective monitors and watch the ongoing onslaught of people "blaming" others for the violation of their rights.. Or corporate scandals. What we are really missing out here is that there is a responsibility factor being overlooked.
It is the classic pass the buck..
They shirk their responsibility to the situation. I was talking to a client this week And were talking about when leadership leaves a company because it is "failing", they are often time sealing the fate of that organization. You see they have a responsibility to the current employees and the company.. Before they ever took that position they should of made sure they were up to the task or if not .. be ready to rise and fall with the ship. And at the very least take a degree of responsibility for the situation. But instead the blame others. I would love to say this is limited to only business. But it is systemic in our whole system. And at the end of the day what does it solve. Nothing. The Japanese have a different approach that we here in the west could use a bit of. They are willing to accept more willing to be accept responsibility for their own actions. Sometimes a little to much so where they suffer from martyr complex. SO I am not advocating going whole hog on the idea. But I am saying accept your errors. .. In the same respect the USA could benefit also from not worrying as much about who did it. More about why and how to fix it should be the focus. With the leader of the repair team being the one who is responsible. So how do we go about implementing that type of cultural change in a organization. One PERSON at a time. So as Michael Jackson said " .. start with the man in the mirror and make that change"
Until next week my fellow entrepreneurs. Keep building empire. And know that we here at IDIC are here to help you.
