Your Favourite Disney Princess Predicted Your Future...

Your Favourite Disney Princess Predicted Your Future...

The root of the most pervasive subconscious programming comes from:

  1. Your family
  2. Popular culture

When we are young, when our minds are super-sponges absorbing everything and anything around us, Disney has been at the forefront of programming our young minds with subliminal messaging.

As a child growing up during the cusp of the 20th and the 21st century, it was impossible to avoid Disney's influence, unless your parents had you living under a rock.

Your childhood is not something that is over and can be dismissed. Every single adult issue can be traced back to patterns and beliefs created in childhood.

That means your favorite heroines have more to do than being tucked away somewhere deep in your brain's memory vaults.

As humans, we naturally resonate with characters and stories that mirror our emotional experiences. What you're naturally drawn to is not by chance. The movie and character you felt drawn to and watched, again and again, reflected your experiences and deep inner desires.

Your relatable heroine's story can pervasively condition you to make decisions just like them... in your adult life!

This is why you can look back at your life around 30 and find yourself realizing that you've become your favorite Disney princess.

Ready?

Right now, think back to which Disney princess you loved as a child.

Jasmine (Aladdin) | Snow White | Mulan | Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) | Cinderella | Pocahontas | Belle (Beauty and the Beast) | Ariel (The Little Mermaid)

There are more princesses, but for the sake of this article, we're keeping it to the most iconic princesses for the current adult generation.

However, let's not forget the most popular princesses of all, albeit them being recent additions to the Princess parade. I feel very compelled to add them because of how much they took over the world by storm.

Now that your childhood is over, let's look at how these princesses parallel the patterns of your life.

Jasmine - You come from a highly controlling family, and you want to be set free. Image, status, and reputation were important in your family, and you were not allowed to be yourself. You love rebellious energy, but find yourself still following the rules of life. In your current life, you strongly feel the need to protect your status and image, and your family influence controls your most important life and career decisions. If someone can give you excitement and help you feel something, you don't mind "dating down."

Snow White - Deep mother wounds. Abandonment, betrayal, or jealousy from your mother, or a mother figure. You often found women targeting or hurting you, and you find yourself in the company of men, where you end up overdelivering to be loved and appreciated. You don't realize that sexual interest or your willingness to continuously mother people could have fueled these male interests. Snow White mothers the 7 dwarfs. Imagining a rejected young woman running from her evil stepmother and living and mothering 7 little men is far from cute, but that's a story you accepted and loved as a little girl. You trust men too easily but have a distrust of other women. In your life, you may have never experienced deep female bonds.

Mulan - You had to play like a man to succeed. This got you far in life. You may be in a highly competitive male-dominated industry, such as engineering, law, construction, or work with mostly men. You have a hard time connecting to feminine practices. They bore you, or perhaps you even make fun of them. You play the "cool girl," and pride being one of the boys. You're goofy and chill with anything and everything, from beer to burp jokes. Behind that easy-going girl persona, there is a sad girl who struggles with feeling unloved, unable to show up in this world as who you really are. You have a hard time accepting your own beauty. In your life, you push forward with a lot of fire and energy, but your efforts are not always met with the same enthusiasm and appreciation from others.

Aurora - You're very feminine, and often find yourself lacking initiative, assertiveness, and stamina to go for what you really want. You're too kind for your own good. You love animals. You are drawn to courageous and bold people because fire-like qualities are what you wish you had more of. You often defer or wait for others to notice you and take care of you. You wait for others to initiate. Female relationships feel scary and challenging. Relationships in general feel overwhelming. Doing regular adulting often feels daunting to you.

Cinderella - Deep mother wounds and abandonment trauma. You find yourself seeking a maternal figure you lost early, or you never had. You love the company of older women. You wish for the kind of love that sweeps you under your feet, even a "lottery" form of success, such as the story of a singer that gets found on YouTube. In your life, you have a tendency to keep seeking another expert to help you manifest success.

Pocahontas - You're powerfully intuitive and spiritual. You've always felt different. You may have chosen a partner or work dynamic that looks good on the outside, but is demeaning and undervaluing your true potential. In your life, what looks good on the outside has not made you happy, and you don't know how to stop.

Belle - You are strong. You found yourself in patterns of working hard and getting little in return. You gave a lot of energy into a toxic, even narcissistic love and work culture. You were the beacon of sanity and strength in your family of origin. You hoped that your wisdom, hard work, and strength were enough to turn toxicity and scarcity into abundance, only to realize you cannot control the uncontrollable. Despite all your efforts, sadly the Beast never turned into a kind prince. The person who represents your version of the Beast became your biggest wake-up call and learning lesson.

Ariel - You often fell for a love interest who doesn't notice you. You may also have worked hard in your jobs without getting the recognition you deserve. You sacrificed your health, integrity, and wellness for love and work, sometimes to an extreme and damaging level. You became a shapeshifter who is highly concerned about being appealing to others. You often don't listen to the people who mean well and love you. You even move away from them. In your life, losing your authentic voice for the sake of love or money never gave you the happy outcome you wanted.

The Frozen Princesses

Elsa - You hold it in. Nobody would suspect you had an adverse life because you navigate life with such grace and elegance. You are successful on your own. In relationships, you pull back. You have a challenging dynamic with your sibling, whom you pull back from because they are always trying to change you. You enjoy the finer things in life, but as soon as conversations get deep beyond the surface level, you exit. In your life, you're surrounded by people, but like to be alone to protect yourself from being hurt.

Anna - You've been starved of love and connection. Your childhood was very lonely, even if you were surrounded by people. For that reason, you're too tolerant and forgiving of people for your own good. In relationships, you chase. You're highly romantic and care about everyone. You daydream a lot. You felt so alone in your life and this made you lower your standards in your love life and career. Anyone nice to you or shows any sign of making an effort to listen to you, you enthusiastically let them in too fast. This has hurt you too many times and has limited your potential.

If you have siblings, you certainly have an Elsa-type sibling you want to be close to, but hasn't worked out. Your parents have always been checked out or absent, and you've given up on changing them. What hurts you and makes you lose sleep is wanting things to be great with your sibling, who is unresponsive to your efforts, avoidant, and even hurtful. In real life, your sibling never came around as Elsa did in the movie. The outcome of the movie made you cry uncontrollably because it's what you always wanted.

Mother Wound: Core Commonality In All Disney Princesses

None of the princesses have mothers. They have mothers who have passed away, have been disconnected and uninfluential in their lives, or have been narcissistic and jealous hurters.

Thousands of years of patriarchy created the motherless experience for women. They've had mothers who are helpless, disconnected, absent, or image-driven, who leave their daughter to fend for herself. Some women experience hurtful, mean, jealous, and highly critical narcissistic mothers.

Many women reflect back on their girlhood experiences but do not realize how critically their nurture wounds shape their brains and continue to influence their adult life.

Lack of connection, scarcity, and loneliness in your life, whether in personal life or career, stems from a childhood lacking nurture, which creates the perpetual cycle where you believe you're not enough and are undeserving of comfort, ease, love, and abundance.

Combined with childhood experiences where she was relying on herself much too soon, women invest their time, energy, money towards what keeps them in struggle mode. They become conditioned to fight, fawn (people-please), shapeshift and struggle to get anything, while unconsciously remaining hopeful on that magic outcome that the Princesses got.

The Princess's magical outcome keeps grown women hopeful of a magical outcome while putting in energy and effort towards those who are unable to reciprocate back.

The Princess Archetype is powerfully effective in the self-discovery process because the Princesses play an accurate representation of one of the deepest human issues. Mother wounds are the most common root cause of human experience pains that when addressed and healed, you find yourself radically changed.

Healing the wounds inflicted by the experiences with your mother brings wellness and success in friendship, intimacy, soul purpose, financial health, and lasting happiness.

Every woman is a Queen. It's how you should have always been loved. It's never too late to get started to heal to create a life you truly deserve.

I always resonated most with Jasmine because I loved the location (and her wardrobe). But I also come from a very strong/controlling Italian family. My mom especially. She was also very concerned about what other people thought about her/us. I drove her nuts because I refused to be a conformist. Of course she never approved of my boyfriends (maybe because I favored the “bad boy”/non-conformist type). She would always tell me that I was “dating down”. I didn’t look at it that way, but she sure did. The description of Jasmine in the article is on point in my case. Thanks for sharing this! ??
