Blackouts (Brazil): how to improve?

One of the most important causes of blackouts is trees/branches falling onto the grids and all the associated consequences.

The regulatory framework that governs the "treatment" of trees includes a list of stakeholders: the City Hall, the Fire Department, the Concessionaire, and, of course, the regulatory agencies. To remove a tree that is putting an electrical grid at risk, the process of obtaining the necessary authorisations is laborious, time-consuming and involves many "stamps".

The result is well known. It is a slow and, above all, inefficient "system". Practice has shown that trees fall, causing blackouts and the situation never improves.

Quite the opposite! My suggestion is simple. Focus all responsibility on the concessionaire. It should be the only one that needs to assess which trees need to be pruned and/or removed and take the necessary measures with the required speed. And, allocate to it the compensation, which today is shared with so many other agencies.
