Black History Month is an annual celebration that started in the US in 1926. It was conceived by historian Carter G Woodson who?proposed marking a time to honour African Americans and raise awareness of Black history.

We may come across so many black people - African Americans who face life danger situations everyday at most of the place due to racism and giving that a war fort answer say's the poet - Maya Angelou

You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt

Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
‘Cause I walk like I’ve got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.

Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,

Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops,
Weakened by my soulful cries?

Does my haughtiness offend you?

You may shoot me with your words,

You may kill me with your hatefulness,

Does my sexiness upset you?

At the meeting of my thighs?

Out of the huts of history’s shame

Up from a past that’s rooted in pain

Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.

Leaving behind nights of terror and fear

Into a daybreak that’s wondrously clear

Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.

The word not only conveys a message of a black person rising above leaving all the difficulties around him/her but also how a lady stands with her words to shake the worlds power over the judgment of people on her skin colour. The poets are so much of an inspiration to this modern generation with the situations people deal right now the words not only are there to be read but give a hope to new fly a new start for a everyday.
