How much does the dollar circulate in your community? There was once a time where the dollar circulated amongst a group of African Americans more than 365 days before leaving the community. This was in a suburb of Tulsa, Oklahoma, that would grow to be known as Black Wall Street. Today, that same dollar only circulates in the black community for only 6 hours.
On this week’s episode of Maconomics, Ross Mac discusses how Black Wall Street was built and the significance of adopting a similar plan in today’s society.
Topics include:
- The circulation of dollars amongst race groups
- History of Black Wall Street
- How to recreate Black Wall Street
