Black Visionaries Inc. Announces the 3rd Annual Black Visionaries Brunch

Black Visionaries , a premier organization dedicated to celebrating and advancing Black professionals across varying industries by curating access to peer-to-peer learning and development, today announced the return of its annual event, The Black Visionaries Brunch, which will be held in New York City on February 24th. This year’s event marks the 3rd annual gathering of thought leaders, change agents, and multi-hyphenate creatives within the Black Visionaries community.

“The Black Visionaries community elevates everyone, making them feel as though they are the star and highlight of the room, even if it’s your first time joining us,” said Shaq Lawson , Head of Operations and Black Visionaries Board Member. There’s no ego, no pride just celebration and uplifting. Spaces like this aren't a “nice to have,” they’re a necessity for instilling confidence into a group that often questions their place in a room. Our community expands beyond social engagements, with a dedicated space to foster relationships and build with peers outside of your immediate network, unlocking new opportunities.”

In February 2022, Black Visionaries Inc. hosted the inaugural “Black Visionaries Brunch,” a space to celebrate changemakers across industries, while introducing them to a community of like-minded peers. Having evolved heavily over the last two years, this year’s Brunch will feature a larger list of attendees, new corporate and community partners, and support from ERGs who have all played a key role, helping to scale the experience in one way or another. Hosted by Destanee Bonds , Founder of Power in Prose and Content Creator, this year's brunch will feature curated discussions amongst attendees intended to aid them in fostering new relationships and uncovering career blockers. Adding to the excitement, the event will also include a Keynote delivered by Marketing industry titan Andre Gray , Founder of Maison Foundation and Chief Creative Officer of Annex88.

This year’s theme is “Remove The Veil,” and as history has taught us, “the veil” holds symbolic weight and has various meanings. It represents secrecy, mystery, and purity. Within that veil lies immense potential, truth waiting to be revealed, and identities yearning to be expressed. “I think Black professionals should remove the veil because it symbolizes a level of authenticity and openness that not many people reach. To me, it means being transparent about our experiences and asserting our presence along the way,” said Chanel Miller , Head of Creative and Black Visionaries Board Member. There have been many moments where a veil has been removed for or by leaders within the Black community. It’s when Barack Obama was elected president. It’s the interrupted Taylor Swift acceptance speech because “Beyonce had album of the year”, and it’s Rihanna’s Superbowl pregnancy reveal.

For the Black Visionaries community, this event is comparable to a New Year’s celebration, filled with intention setting and reflection. As done in years prior, the team looks to continue delivering a mix of virtual and in-person experiences to allow all community members to engage despite geographic location.
