Black Tea: Conversations about Race & Community in Central Pennsylvania

Now, more than ever, we need to talk & listen. In a nation as divided as we are on race & racism, sitting down & learning about one another’s perspectives goes a long way. That's what Black Tea is all about.

I was honored to be interviewed for Black Tea, to share my perspective, & learn from Tierra Williams. She's a local activist, co-chair of the 3.20 Coalition, professional, & veteran who's committed herself to improving our community for everyone.

In this episode, you'll meet Tierra, Chris Crosier, Christopher DeJarnett, Robert Zeigler, Ronald Filippelli, and me. We talk about the transition of our country from the Trump administration to the Biden administration, what the 1.6.21 Insurrection means, & whether & how America is great. Mr. DeJarnett puts a strong warning in front of us.: "If people continue to dismiss [1.6.21] as happenstance or a WTF moment, the probability that happens again...is likely."

When she asked me about the 1.6.21 Trump Insurrection, I very plainly pointed my finger at Republican leaders. Their lack of courage & abetting of the Great Lie gave cover & still gives cover to white nationalists. I won’t stop ‘til we remove them from office (by peaceful means of course). Some might say, “But you said we need to talk & listen to one another.” Republicans who’ve been in power for over two decades or rode their dad’s coat tails leadership have said enough and listened too little. They ignore their constituents’ calls for economic justice & climate action while advancing to leadership. They also get the mic whenever they want it.

It's not about them. It's about you & me working together. We need to talk and listen to regular people—from every church, school district, & business—to build & strengthen bonds in our communities.

You gonna make some tea?

* Congratulations to Pablo and his team at Dark Mind for their hard work & dedication to pro-social media.
