Black Light Body Painting Changes Everything

It has been a breath since we last revelled in the captivating allure of body painting. So today, we are taking a journey illuminated by the enchanting glow of black light.

Delving into the realm of artistry and personal expression. While the image is mine, the body art was created by the talented Melody Kielek, a remarkable body painter whose black light creations transcend the boundaries of the visible.

My client included a chapter of these body-painted images in her intimate book.

Melody's art is brilliant. She takes input from my client, adding my insights to her mix. She creates unique one-of-a-kind body art.

We both love working with black lights. I use the old-school original black light tubes. They give a deeply coloured, richer look over the popular purple LED imitation black light.

What makes her approach genuinely remarkable is the ability to create a design that appears as one thing under regular light, only to transform into something entirely different, illuminated by the black light's mystical aura. It is a visual shift that catches us off guard, infusing each image with an element of surprise and intrigue.

The viewer is transported to a world where reality blurs and imagination takes flight.

In our studio, it still falls under boudoir or nude photography, in the broadest brush stroke, you might say. Each of my clients marvels at how their bodies appear to vanish. How the sense of being nude slips away.
