The Black Joy Parade & FESTIVAL
MS. Kathy S.Robinson, Turner
I enjoy working with children of all ages, individuals, and families to help them acquire skills they need, to improve their life struggles and to help them move forward to reach their goals.
See you tomorrow at the parade!
Here is what you need to know.
Date: Sunday, Feb 26th
Parade Time: 12:30 and lasts approx. 1.5 hours
Festival Time: 12:30pm - 7pm
Cost: FREE entry
Transportation & Parking:
There is very limited parking in downtown Oakland. With so many options, we strongly recommend taking public transportation.
Take BART to either 12th St City Center or 19th St station, both walking distance to the parade route and celebration site.
Ride Amtrak to Jack London Square, a 17 min walk to the start of the parade.
Hop on San Francisco Bay Ferry to Oakland terminal, also a 17 min walk to the start of the parade.
If you are being dropped off, please put your drop off location as 21st and Harrison which will leave you just one block from the celebration site.
If you MUST drive, please be aware that there is very limited parking as many public lots are closed for the weekend.
Weather:
The Black Joy Parade is a rain or shine event. We are constantly monitoring the weather forecast and don’t currently believe it will have a major effect on the spirit or attendance of the event. If at any point the weather makes it unsafe to hold our event, we will send an update to our community. We will also have ponchos for sale at the event, but come dressed with layers. We all know Bay Area nights are cold.
