February. Is that really you? Bigger than a hallmark holiday, I’m pumped for Black History Month.
An annual reminder of the many incredible Black historical figures who’ve sacrificed for, contributed to, and shaped American history. It is a month full of opportunities to learn more about how we can respect our past and create a better future. As we come into another month surviving a pandemic, this year’s Black History Month boasts resilience and the strength we know the Black community has exemplified in many more ways than we could ever imagine. Our Relics of Color are proud of our Black Relics thriving during the most unprecedented times. This February we’re honored to present a special month of programs to serve our Relics of Color and allies in celebration and impactful enrichment of Black History.
Just a few ways we're encouraging the Relics of Color and our allies to participate are:
- Support Black Owned Businesses
- Indulge in Movies
- Healing Circles
- Resilience Training
- Remote Volunteering
- Fishbowl Discussions
- Daily Historical Figures
- Reading lists
- #MBDay Celebration
There's a light over Relics that beams as the legacy of Mikey Butler. As the founding executive sponsor for the Relics of Color, we’re grateful for the mentorship and unwavering support for the betterment of employees of color at New Relic. Bold, Authentic, Passionate, Accountable, and Connected. He shared each value wholeheartedly and some may argue embodied them the greatest. With his passionate personality, bold sense of fashion, authentic mentorship and accountable leadership, anyone connected with him is prideful.
This Black History Month the Relics of Color are proud to lead a day dedicated to this incredible leader’s legacy. Commemorating his legacy and recognizing his momentous contributions to New Relic’s Black History. Join us the last Friday of February for Mikey Butler Day, wearing our best fashion and igniting our spirits with gratitude to his memory.

4 年So very honored to be in his presence for years. And, even more honored to be his wife. He definitely changed my fashion style and encouraged to me to be authentic and bold. He would say, “Be phat and sassy.”
