Black History Month with Theispot
Black history encompasses the social, political, cultural and philosophical impact of Black people everywhere. This Black History Month, we wanted to highlight some inspiring projects from a few of our wonderful ispotters.
Shaniya Carrington produced a cover and full page interior illustrations for The Modern Green Book, a publication and agency that connects people to black-owned businesses. The theme was "Black Luxury."
David Cooper?teamed up with actor, comedian and author, Kevin Hart, to illustrate a series of books about a sharp little guy named Marcus. "Marcus Makes it Big" comes on the heels of the?#1?New York Times bestseller, "Marcus Makes a Movie," and David's fast and crazy illustrations keep perfect pace with the hilarious text.
David Cooper?also illustrated a somber feature on women of color who are leading the charge against environmental racism, for Women's Health?magazine.
Alecia Rodriguez’s?background in fashion is evident in her racy, glamorous illustration style. Moving from the runway to the drawing board, Alecia’s work now attracts clients such as?Marvel Comics, Target, Coke, Disney / Pixar?and?DC Comics.
