Black History Month
As you look at your calendar this February, this month represents something powerful: Black history. For us at CommAgency, this month marks a chance to learn, share, and grow as team members and people who understand these important moments in our history.
One way CommAgency is opening the conversation is through one-minute podcasts. These podcasts provide an opportunity to hear our members' voices and start discussions among our communications community. Dillon Williams, one of our Student Executives for the Photography Department, is helping to lead the podcast initiative.
"I think it's important to stay informed," said Williams, "and some of the information isn't readily available."
For these reasons, our departments are prioritizing information and creating opportunities for students of all backgrounds to engage with Black history. Through our podcasts, we're exploring stories that shape our understanding of both the past and present.?
As two episodes are already produced and another coming soon, we're establishing a platform for voices to be heard.
"With the help of myself and other student leaders coming together, it's important to recognize that Black history is significant and there is so much to learn, no matter what industry," Williams said.
As CommAgency continues to grow, it becomes increasingly important to recognize the significance of celebrating Black History Month and to continue conversations that support learning and growth.
