What does Black History Month mean to you: BHM is an opportunity to highlight & celebrate the various talents and successes of African Americans, past and present. It is also a chance to educate those who may not know of those contributions to American History.?

How has your heritage shaped who you are today: Black History starts with family and commitment. Growing up in a time where learning Black History was the responsibility of the family, not the schools. How your family instilled the principles of hard work and pride based on Black Americans locally and nationally.

What do you love most about your heritage: Uniqueness, the remarkable and special things many have been able to do despite some opposition and obstacles placed in front of them during not so pleasant times.

What advice would you give the younger generation of Black children: Take pride in who you are, not what others think of you. If you remain faithful and committed to being the best person you can be, then you show honor and reverence to those that came before you that carved a footprint of success.
