Black History Month 2023
"Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world." - Harriet Tubman
Good Saturday morning all and welcome to this edition (#22) of "With That Said" (WTS), a LinkedIn newsletter powered by your friends here at Supply Chain Now .
In today's edition, we honor Black History Month, a month set aside to recognize the immense, extraordinary contributions that African Americans have made to our collective journey forward; but it's also a time to reflect on the continued struggle to address injustices that can still be found in our society.
As he sat in a hot Birmingham jail cell in 1963, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr would write a now iconic letter, responding to eight local clergymen that had criticized a protest that MLK had led (and was arrested for).
Dr. King would mention in the letter: "I am cognizant of the interrelatedness of all communities and states. I cannot sit idly by in Atlanta and not be concerned about what happens in Birmingham. Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere."
That is certainly one of history's most famous and righteous call to actions.
As we all celebrate Black History Month 2023, our SCN team would like to share the following resources for your consideration:
