Black Friday

As the world is celebrating Black Friday sales, do they actually know the historic background of it, and also that it is a rip off as most sales are? Anyway a dear friend of mine from back home sent me the background and I was shocked and saddened. I am made to understand that it originated from during the slave trade in America. During Black Friday, slaves were sold at a discount to boost the economy. Therefore, Black (slaves from African descent) Friday (the date the sale on that Friday in November). Interesting history for me who is a lifelong learner and who is always grateful to learn something new that helps me make better decisions in my life. Happy Friday everyone!
