Black Excellence!

Black Excellence!

DID YOU KNOW? Of course you didn't!

Millions have benefitted from the groundbreaking contributions of Dr. Percy L. Julian. He is the first Black American inducted into the National Inventors Hall Of Fame.

Dr. Julian had many accomplishments which should be taught in history classes. Instead much of Black American History has been omitted. Some subjects are banned so not to introduce your children to Black Excellence, their contributions to the human race. Educate your children since society will not do the same.

Dr. Percy L. Julian moved to Oak Park in 1951 where he pioneered the racial integration of Oak Park. Despite an arson attack and the bombing of his home Dr. Julian persevered. Let this be a teaching lesson for your children. Freedom is not free. The lessons learned is never give in - never give up. The struggle continues even today!

The list of black inventors goes on and on. The facts don't change no matter how others try to spin it. There is greatness in our bloodline such as?Charles Richard?Drew?(1904 - 1950) an African American surgeon who pioneered?methods of storing blood plasma for transfusion?and organized the first large-scale blood bank in the United States.

George Washington Carver?born into slavery 1864, was an agricultural scientist and the greatest inventor in American history, discovering over 300 uses for peanuts including chili sauce, shampoo, shaving cream and glue (though not peanut butter, as is often claimed.) Google it.

Alexander Miles?(1838 – 1918) was an African American?inventor?best known for being awarded a?patent?for automatically opening and closing?elevator?doors.

Marie Van Brittan Brown?(1922 - 1999) was the?inventor?of the first home security system. She is also credited with the invention of the first closed circuit television.?

Garrett?Augustus?Morgan, Sr.?(1877 - 1963)?was an inventor, businessman, and community leader known for inventing a type of?traffic light.

The list of Black Inventor contributions to America goes on and on making people lives easier today. The censorship and suppression of Black Inventors did not defeat their grit and sheer determination to succeed. Against all odds, in a time when racism, discrimination and prejudice consumed the world. This is who our ancestors are. This is the stock from which we come from.

Preserve our history, educate your children who are not taught in school. Our roots run deep. Remember, remember we must never forget. As long as we continue to expose our black ancestors contributions to America, Black History will never be limited to just one month of the year. Pass it on ... Pass it on.
