Tuesday 24th January 2023 celebrates the International Day of Education.?Everyone’s experience of education is different, but the quality of its provision has a lasting and continual impact throughout our lives.?Creating environments that facilitate great teaching and learning is massively important.?
In 2018, The United Nations General Assembly designated the 24th January as the International Day of Education, to celebrate the role of education in our world.?The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development recognises education is essential for the success of all 17 of its goals.?In fact, Goal 4 is to “ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong opportunities for all”.
Whether at home, or at work, our team understands education and continual learning are key to personal and professional development. At the same time, we recognise how lucky many of us are for what our varied education has brought us – we are all bloody lucky to be where we are, to work in a great team of individuals for a great business, and with some amazing clients.

Education in the wider sense of the word is the core of what we do as the built environment constantly evolves around us… our willingness to embrace new fundamental thinking (such as ESG and Net Zero Carbon) or the ability to provide informed advice to our clients. Education has also given each and every one of us the foundations for a great career, enabling a passion for our industries; enlightening clients, friends and….?anybody we talk to.

As well as assisting our clients in the education sector, we are proud to be assisting in very small ways in the continuing education of our peers.??For instance, tomorrow, our Facade Team will be presenting a free CPD to RICS professionals in London in relation to cladding and fire safety.?Next week we are hosting building surveying postgraduate students on tours of active projects in the Northwest.?

So...?A day of education a very small amount of time to shine the light on something which is intrinsic to our lives… and we will always strive to give back wherever we can.
