BJP MLA Rajendra Patni Passes Away After Prolonged Illness

BJP MLA Rajendra Patni Succumbs to Illness, Leaving Behind Legacy of Public Service

Rajendra Patni, the BJP MLA representing Karanja Assembly Constituency in Washim District, passed away today after a prolonged battle with illness. The 59-year-old leader had been receiving treatment in Mumbai for the past few years.

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed his condolences, highlighting Patni's commitment to rural issues and his dedication to solving problems faced by West Vidarbha. He particularly praised Patni's persistent advocacy for resolving the region's irrigation challenges.

Patni's political journey began with the Shiv Sena, later switching to the BJP during the "Modi wave." He served as the Washim District President of the party and consistently secured the MLA seat.

His declining health had led to increased participation of his son-in-law, Gyanak Patni, in the constituency. Gyanak's active involvement in social activities, health camps, and even ground-breaking ceremonies for development projects approved by MLA Patni sparked discussions about whether he might be the BJP's face in the upcoming 2024 assembly elections.

Gyanak currently holds the position of vice-president of the BJP Jain cell.

Rajendra Patni's passing leaves a void in Maharashtra's political landscape. His dedication to public service and his relentless pursuit of solutions for his constituents will be remembered.

Dainik Bhaskar mourns this loss. Rest in peace.
