Bizerm?: "Promance”

You have heard the terms “BFF” and “Bromance”. They refer to special relations of admiration and friendship. One you may not have heard is a Bizerm? that accurately describes relationships in the professional world where one leader or aspiring leader has a special admiration for the leadership style, ability, or intellect of another leader.

Unlike BFFs and Bromances, which are within a single gender, Promances can be within or across gender. An important element of a Promance, therefore, is that the leadership is so strong improprieties do not enter the relationship.

Promances gain strength and success when they become true mentoring relationship, typically with both individuals gaining greatly as the advice and wisdom is respected by both parties.
