Bizcuit? #4: How is Good Friday relevant to business?

Good Friday is the day when Christians around the world celebrate the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Why celebrate the ghastly and excruciating death of the One who claimed to be the Savior of the world??Because two thousand and twenty-three years later there is nary a scintilla of evidence suggesting Jesus was anything less than that.?But the story doesn’t end at the cross.??

Jesus said He had to die to save us from our sins.?Had he remained in the grave, we would be wondering to this day if His plan had worked.?But on the third day (later named Easter), His tomb was found empty with His grave clothes neatly folded within. His resurrected body was seen by five hundred plus people over forty days before he ascended into heaven, as witnessed by eleven of His disciples.?

To which you may reply, “tell me something I didn’t know”.?Fair enough.?Did you know that it’s all true and supported by far more evidence than any ancient historical facts ever recorded? Don’t take my word for it.?Consider the painstakingly researched words of Josh McDowell who set out to disprove the claims of Christ, but instead produced mountains of “Evidence That Demands A Verdict” as documented in his doubt-shattering book by that name. He later wrote the “Cliff Notes” version entitled “More Than A Carpenter”.??

Jesus was indeed far more than a carpenter, though doubters remain in the majority to this day. Sadly, most of those doubters have read little of the Bible never mind the countless books supporting its authenticity.?For those of us attempting to run successful businesses, this would be akin to doing no market research, taking no business classes or reading any business literature while never checking your bank balance to see if you can even afford the next ill-informed mis-guided move you’re about to make.??

My point??If you have rejected the claims of the most famous person to ever live without having examined at least some of the evidence supporting those claims, you are being intellectually dishonest.?

The claims of Jesus Christ will withstand whatever honest scrutiny you care to apply to them. How do I know??Because forty-eight years ago (April 13, 1975) I applied my limited mind to the mind-boggling truths surrounding the most well-lived life in the history of the world…and found them to stand the test of time.

I have doubted everything else at one time of another, but I stand before God and man today saying that I have never doubted my Savior, Jesus Christ.?He changed my life forever in room 18 at the Phi Kappa Psi house on 1200 N. Jordan Avenue in Bloomington, Indiana.

How do I know??Because I was there and He has been with me ever since. Jesus may well be with you right now, standing at the door of your life gently tapping on your heart.
