You can build it yourself...but should you?
My lifelong love for car engines led me to an allegory about IoT solutions. There’s a parallel between the trust we place in a mechanic to maintain our vehicles and the reliability of an IoT platform in managing your IoT devices. It’s not for lack of passion and knowledge that I take my car to be serviced by a mechanic. If you love working on IoT projects but find yourself needing to be more “choosey” and strategic, I have a message for you.

The November Ribbit Network Frog Sensor winner, Michelle G., recently set up her kit and here’s what she had to say about it:?

“Firstly, I must commend Ribbit Network on the adorable frog design, coupled with the incorporation of the Stevenson screen style, which truly captured my attention. The thoughtfulness behind the weather protection features is admirable, and I can see the potential for the Frog Sensor to be a product that I and others would love to use.?
The assembly was quick and easy, once the 2 cables (STEMMA QT/Qwiic JST SH 4-Pin Cable - 50mm Long) arrived from Adafruit. However, I encountered challenges during the firmware installation process. The Discord community proved helpful, and one user’s suggested solution (for the 404 error) involved cloning the repository and installing the idf.py?tool for software installation, but I hit a roadblock towards the end of the process—specifically, the make test/build wouldn't cooperate.?
If the firmware installation process is refined for a smoother user experience, it would undoubtedly make the Frog Sensor an even more delightful and accessible product.”
As a reminder, the Ribbit Network is completely open source and built by a team of volunteers. Anyone wanting to support or volunteer their time to improve the experience can?reach out here.
