The Bittersweet Cafe

The Bittersweet Cafe

This month's dose of inspiration comes from the?Bittersweet Cafe?in Farmington, PA. I spent a long weekend at a nearby resort and stopped in for breakfast. The place looked very cool and I was tired of overpaying for breakfast ??.?

?It was one of those places I wish I had discovered earlier in the trip. The food was amazing, but the mission behind the cafe blew me away. We were greeted by a Pay It Forward board (see below). Here's the concept. Read the cards. See you "qualify" for one of them. The descriptions ranged from "having a bad day," to "don't have enough money to eat" to "just finished cancer treatment." You can redeem a card at the register, or create a credit for someone in the future. We directed our $20 donation to be used for anyone at the cafe "struggling with addiction."

?Imagine a world where we considered others at every transaction . . . .?

?There are not many people like Terri Krysak in this world, so I want to share her?inspiring story.

?All the best, Darren
