Cruise’s robotaxis are coming to the Uber app in 2025

Cruise, General Motors’ self-driving subsidiary, said it has signed a multi-year partnership with ride-hailing giant Uber to bring its robotaxis to the ride-hailing platform in 2025. Cruise didn’t say when exactly customers would see its vehicles on Uber’s platform, but a spokesperson told TechCrunch that this partnership will follow the re-launch of Cruise’s own driverless service.


Intel Makes Its Debut Into Automotive Discrete GPUs

At this year's AI Cockpit Innovation Experience, Intel announced its entry into the automotive, discrete GPU (dGPU) market for vehicle cockpits. With the Intel Arc A760A at the core of this solution, Intel Arc Graphics for Automotive supports up to four 4K displays and includes features such as single root input/output virtualization (SR-IOV), which enhances performance by up to 40% in virtualized environments.

Red, amber, green – traffic lights are pretty much the same the world over, and have been for more than a century. However, they could one day have a fourth colour added to help traffic flow around driverless vehicles, scientists have proposed. Autonomous vehicles (AV) are still a relatively new concept, with no fully driverless cars on the road yet.

This female-led UK startup bags £2.2M for digital scent tech to improve sleep

OW Smell Made Digital (OW), a tech startup which makes smell digital has raised £2.2 million in a pre-series A funding round. UK-based Parkwalk Advisors (which invested in Oxford Endovascular and Psyomics) led the round by investing £1.5 million. The investor also led the secured £1 million seed round back in 2022. In addition, the company was awarded a £0.7 million grant from Innovate UK, the UK’s innovation agency, as part of its Investor Partnerships Programme.


Bed Rotting Tops TikTok Trends: Americans Embrace Viral Sleep Habits

ikTok sleep trends are affecting how Americans sleep, according to a recent survey from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). In the online survey that was released last week, it revealed that 37 percent of the 2,006 Americans who were polled admitted to experimenting with at least one viral sleep trend—and certain groups were more likely to have participated than others.
