Bitcoin, working from home, and the pandemic
Like many businesses, we’ve had to quickly shift how we operate in this new COVID-19 environment. When the pandemic first came to fruition, my first thought was, “How do I keep my employees safe while continuing operations as normal?”
Naturally, I thought about putting our team members in plexiglass bubbles, but that idea was quickly squashed when 100% of my team agreed that it was one of the stupidest ideas I’ve ever had. So, we all moved our operations to home.
Thanks to systems like Jira, Trello, and Zoom, the work-from-home shift was relatively easy, and we didn’t miss a beat. Not one.
From Product to Marketing to Affiliates, everyone has been able to work successfully from home. Yes, there are more dogs barking and kids crying during team meetings. And yes, our famous company lunches are no longer a thing. But for the most part, it’s been smooth sailing.
Now that we’re all working from home, our goals haven’t changed. If anything, they’ve become even more focused. We’re committed to making sure the Winning Poker Network remains a safe place to play, free of Bots and with big guarantees. We’re committed to doing poker the right way. Big.
And we’ve added in some new pandemic-focused goals too. I’m talking about doing what we can to support COVID-19 relief efforts. So far, we’ve hosted two poker tourneys featuring a number of celebrities like Ben Affleck, Adam Sandler, Tom Brady and lots more. And together, we’ve raised millions.
One of our biggest goals, however, remains growing our crypto biz. Today, it accounts for over 60% of our business. And due to more players signing up to play in this new environment where live poker rooms remain shuttered, it’s getting even bigger.
While this pandemic isn’t ideal from a getting-things-done perspective, I’m proud of everyone on our team for going all in to make the best of it and put our customers first.
